Grandma's Finest

CHRISTMAS BOX EXLUSIVE!

Collab with Omen Brewing Edmonton Alberta

Pecan Pie Ale

This brown ale is approachable and simple. Using nutty malts to try and get the nut character of pecan pie along with special B to give it a bit of that raisiny dark fruitiness that comes from caramelized sugar, finally we finished it with more Belgian Kandi sugar/Molasses  to make it have that brown sugar character that we all love!

Our friendship with Omen Brewing goes way back, their brewery openning very soon after we started and very close to our brewery as well. Family operated Omen is ran by 3 brothers and their father, and have a collective knowledge of over 50 years of brewing experience. Specializing in dark beers and classics they make some amazing traditional styles and are considered one of the hidden gems of Edmonton's Craft beer community.
With over 20 beers on tap they are the only brewery that rivals us for most taps at a single brewery. Check them out!

Bah, Humbug!

CHRISTMAS BOX EXLUSIVE!

Collab with Red Hart Brewing Red Deer Alberta

Strong English Bitter

This classic English style is the mixing of old world and new. Featuring English malt, hops and yeast we put a spotlight on new and antiquated hops in this beer. Jester is a new world English hop that is fruit forward and a cross bred of English and US. Mean while Bramling Cross was nearly an extinct varietal of hop that has come back into popularity due to cask ales.

Expect clean British session ale character with a distinctive black current finish and a relaxed drinking character that does not demand your attention. The perfect pub ale.

Red Hart is considered one of the most amazing taprooms in Alberta, and for good reason. Their focus on traditional British ales along with a warm cozy British pub style taproom makes them something wholly unique to our brewing community. The wood work alone in this taproom make it a worth while visit. Not only is their taproom amazing but they are also focused on their community and doing good within it. If you are passing through Red Deer and are looking for a great place to stop for a beer, make sure its at Red Hart, you wont be disappointed.

Terpene Enhanced West Coast Pale Ale

Dank. That is all....

But seriously this beer is something of a wild science experiment and our first time really making a beer using Terpenes, its a classic Best Coast Pale Ale, with clean sharp bitterness and classic west coast  hops. While this beer is not for everyone, we know some of you are going to be overjoyed with this one, now pass that dutchie...

Our collab partners on this beer are both the Growlery and the Cannabis Sommelier.

Make sure to check them out!

Andy the Cannabis Sommelier was a chance meeting on our part, moving to Edmonton to start his own business, he happened upon our brewery from one of the Commons rail car cask events and from then, become close friends!

SNAK!

Collab with Snake Lake Brewing and Cannabis Sommelier

Terpene Enhanced Cold IPA

This unique beer is something wholly unique and unlike anything else we made before. Huge aroma of super fruity dankness reminiscent of over ripe guava, passionfruit, and tropical fruit. Meanwhile the taste is clean and drinkable with sharp and clean bitterness that finishes perfectly dry.

This beer really is something else...

This collab with Snake Lake Brewing is something we have been excited for for some time! Out of Sylvan Lake Alberta, Snake Lake is known for their national award winning beers, everything from their Pilsner to their Hazy IPAs, what ever they do, they do well. We are super glad we got to make something as off the rails as Snak with them.

Our famous Brew Squared base recipe returns. Featuring a Mexican blend of coffee from Dark Woods, along with a healthy dose of Mexican Dulce De Leche, this beer makes the perfect companion to "the Posada".

The juxtaposition of refreshing/clean/bright kolsch, paired with roasty coffee almost makes it a neck jarring flavor profile of dark, light, refreshing and sweet all at the same time, while still being balanced in all regards!

The Marry Mystery Machine...of Metal

CHRISTMAS BOX EXLUSIVE!

Collab with New Level Brewing Calgary Alberta

Chocolate Orange American Stout

Packed with flavor this beer is something amazing. Roasty sweet stout with a strong hoppy character to keep it in balance. Using a variety of adjuncts and techniques this beer emulates that Christmas chocolate we all love to wack. A touch of coffee is used to enhance the chocolaty aroma (a secret baking technique, try it in brownies, replace the water with coffee! You will never go back), two forms of orange and Golden Naked Oats/ Lactose for some residual sweetness. This beer is sure to please the black (metal) beer drinker in your life.

New Level Brewing is seriously metal AF.

Big bold flavorful beers, with big bold flavorful character. New Level is always up to something that is pushing the boundaries of conventional beer. They brew how ever they want and give the middle finger to conventional guidelines. The Kings of Lactose have got some of the coolest beers in Alberta, hands down.

Yule (2nd) Runnings

CHRISTMAS BOX EXLUSIVE!

Homebrew Collab

Earl Grey Patersbier

What is a Patersbier?

Patersbier is a style brewed exclusively for the monks at Belgian Monasteries.  Using the second runnings of much stronger beers, these were the first "session beer" styles. These beers are now also called a Belgian single. We enhanced it with a touch of Earl Grey to give it hint of dark herbal character, while still being approachable and Belgian yeast forward.

This recipe is designed by one of our first regulars/customers/fans and now avid homebrewer. I am sure you will hear a lot more about Loren over the next little while, as we are sure to do more project together in the future. He is a great friend of the brewery and the people in it. We are excited to have his first commercial beer to market in this case!

CHRISTMAS BOX EXLUSIVE!

Collab with Ile Sauvage Victoria BC/Rosy Farms Alberta

Haskcap Dark Sour

Dark, rich, with a gentle sourness, and a berry forward ester profile, this beer is the sour for the winter season. Haskcaps from Rosy farms add a wonderful cherry and blueberry character, that blend well with the soft dark malt body.

Rosy Farms specializes in Haskcap berry production and Andrew is passionate about them as well. With several varietals, this very Canadian berry is something of an enigma to most. We hope this beer will get you to go out and try some for yourself. We hope to try out more applications and beer styles with berry in the future!

Ile Sauvage out of Victoria BC is known for their sour and mix ferment beers.  If your a fan of sour beers you defiantly need to keep an eye on these guys. Brewing amazing beer since early 2019, their taproom is nested next to many other great breweries. If you are out in Victoria you need to stop at their gorgeous taproom for a beer and some pizza! Bliss-ful

CHRISTMAS BOX EXLUSIVE!

Collab with Townsquare Brewing Edmonton Alberta / New Whisky Order Alberta

Ex-Bourbon -> Ex-Maple Syrup Oak, aged on Bruichladdich 2010 Whisky... Tropical Stout (Thats a heck of a title...)

Wonderful dark burnt sugar / maple character with a light oakiness make this beer something particularly special! We soaked the oak on Bliss 10 Bruichladdich 2010 Whisky to give it a slightly fruitier character to it. Stout lovers rejoice! We fermented it a bit warm to get more ester character of of the already hot fermenting Lutra yeast to give it that Tropical Stout Character.

We can thank our friends at New Whisky Order for turning us on to this unique and hard to find whisky. New Whisky Order is a large whisky "appreciation" club, trading photos and reviews of whisky at a community level from as far away as the UK and Ice Land. You can learn more about them on their Facebook page.

If you live in Edmonton and dont know about Townsquare, well, I dont know what to say... They are the most awarded craft brewery in Edmonton at a national level for their age. Making styles that push the envelope while also have plenty of classical beers in their rotation, Townsquare is sure to have something that is going to blow your mind. Their barrel aging program is something to keep an eye on as they are bringing fun beers to barrel aging and constantly experimenting. We have close ties to them as our "big brother" brewery. Tiger by the Tail

CHRISTMAS BOX EXLUSIVE!

Collab with Chronicle Brewing Bowmanville, Ontario

Tiger Tail Milkshake IPA

Decedent and rich this milkshake IPA is packed with piles of tropical orange character and a touch star anise character to bring out that Canadian Classic Ice Cream character of Tigers Tail. A special house blend of New England yeast makes the aroma explode out of this beer along with orange zest and a double dry hop of Citra. Finally a touch of lactose to keep everything coming back to Ice Cream at its core, this beer is seriously one of the most decedent beers in this box by far.

This beer was brewed in collaboration with Chronicle Brewing out of Bowmanville, Ontario. Chronicle is the nerdy brewery out east, and have established a name for themselves with bombastic flavorful beers and fun nerdy labels that make smile and laugh (sound familiar?).

I am looking forward to my next time out east so I can take the time to visit them in person. They are not to far out of Toronto and on the way to one of my favorite area of Canada (Prince Edward County). We hope to see more of their beer make it out here in the future!
